These asymmetrical sterling silver and gold earrings are inspired by the connections in our lives. Unexpectedly displaced, yet riveted and hardwired for connection. Hand forged sterling silver earrings with just the right amount of rough elegance. Textured living, holding on, finding the Oneness in our shared humanity.

From top of ear wires, these measure approximately 3 inches in length. These are completely hand fabricated from sterling silver and 22k gold and they have been made in my one person shop in Atlanta GA USA.

I made these sterling silver earrings entirely by hand. I’m fascinated with the textures created by combining fusing, granulation, and forging. Each piece on my workbench is special, but with Dangling Connections I am inspired by the layers of experience that make us hardwired for connection.

Every experience we have shapes our nature, giving us the strength to achieve our wildest dreams, to overcome unexpected setbacks, and to endure life’s toughest conflicts. Overcoming obstacles and achieving long held dreams, our life is a montage of defining moments conquered and memories claimed. We see the reflection of these struggles in every person we meet. Each one of us walking the path of life, alone yet together in our shared humanity.

Probably one of the most rewarding things to create is handmade texture- and the texture in Dangling Connections is no exception. I always approach the creation of texture a bit like a mad scientist. The alchemy of fire, force, and metal is unpredictable and enthralling. Each hammer blow shapes the metal in a new direction. Each pass of a torch runs the risk of artistic implosion, where the metal could sink into a formless mass once more. The thrill of creation is echoed in the rush of artistic freedom with every moment, until the final texture is achieved.
